WIX

I had never used Wix until this course, and I have quickly realized how useful this website development tool is. It is very user friendly and makes for an easy build. Whether you are building off of a template or starting from a blank slate, there is so much freedom and customization available. Like most website tools, it does have its restrictions. Unless you want to pay money you are left with a restriction on a domain name and unavailable to access many templates and tools.

HTML & CSS

After using a tool like Wix, html seemed like another language. It made me realize what really goes into website development tools and definitely gave me a better understanding of a website structure. I did enjoy learning html and using css and found it extremely satisfying when things worked out. It takes a lot of patience and sometimes trial and error to achieve the result you want.  I wouldn't mind using html in the future and becoming more proficient in it. It gave me an appreciation of people who are able to build some amazing websites using only code.

WORDPRESS

The change of Wix to Wordpress was definitely frustrating. I found it difficult at first to not see everything as a whole when adding content to the website like you can in Wix. It took me longer to get the hanf of Wordpress, but once I did I could see the real use of the tool. Learning two different tools was a great experience for widening the range of knowledge I have, rather than only being used to one.

Summary

I have learned that it is extremely easy to create and customize your own website. Tools such as Wix and Wordpress offer ways to make a professional website without spending any money. Learning a variety of tools for website design has made me more adaptable and aware of what is available.
